The Otago Central Rail Trail Challenge Duathlon consisted of two stages: Day: 90 kms Clyde Railhead to Ranfurly, Day 2: 60kms Ranfurly to Middlemarch, the event took place in blazing sunshine - to the delight of onlookers while making it a very tall task for the participants and their support crews.

Concluding in Middlemarch, there were cars with bicycle carriers everywhere! The newly opened premises of Cycle Surgery was the headquarter for the prize giving.

My personal favourite team was the "tutu team", who dressed to show that they are not competitive and who also admitted that they should perhaps have put as much effort into their training as their tutus!
